Board approves Comprehensive Sexuality Education Plan required by state for 2025–2027

The Board unanimously approved the district's Comprehensive Sexuality Education Plan (CSEP) for the 2025–2027 cycle on May 14.
Director Maureen Callahan explained that the CSEP is a state-required plan reviewed and approved by each district's governing board every two years and outlined the plan's essential elements, selected curriculum, and communication procedures, including family opt-out processes. "This plan is reviewed and approved by each school district’s Governing Board every two years," Callahan said.
Director Melissa Standley moved to approve the plan and Director David Linn seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The Board asked clarifying questions about communications to families and next steps for implementation.
