Rush City board approves memberships and committee assignments

At the Jan. 9 organizational meeting, the board approved participation or membership in the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA), Resource Training and Solutions programs (Membership, Mgmt. Asst. Program, Onsite Management Service), Central Minnesota Educational Research and Development Council (CMERDC), Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) and Schools For Equity in Education (SEE). The motion to approve membership items was moved by Rory Roth, seconded by Kristin Papke and recorded as carried 5-0.
The board then confirmed committee assignments for the year: SCRED — Kristin Papke (Will Schmidt backup); Board Advisory — Kristin Papke and Kevin Haugrud; Facilities — Ken Lind, Will Schmidt, Rory Roth; Finance — Will Schmidt, Rory Roth, Ken Lind; Policy — Teri Umbreit and Will Schmidt; Personnel — Will Schmidt, Teri Umbreit, Rory Roth; ECMECC — Kevin Haugrud (backup Rory Roth); with Teri Umbreit named for MSHSL, SEE and MSBA responsibilities and the MSBA legislative liaison role assigned as presented. The minutes show these items approved by unanimous vote.
The meeting also designated the Superintendent as the Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) for State of Minnesota Education secure website access and designated the school website as the official bulletin board for principal notices before adjourning at 7:00 p.m.
