Taft ISD trustees elect Banda president, Benedict vice-president and Carvajal secretary

During the May 6 meeting the board conducted its annual reorganization of officers. Trustee Greg Benedict nominated Manuel Banda for board president; the motion carried on a roll call with seven yeas and zero nays. For vice-president, Greg Benedict received the position after a nomination from Trustee Paul Luis Treviño; an alternate nomination was made for Diana Buendia but the motion carried in favor of Greg Benedict. Johnny Carvajal was nominated and elected board secretary; those officer elections were recorded as unanimous.
Following the votes the board’s official officer list was recorded: Board President Manuel Banda, Board Vice-President Greg Benedict, Board Secretary Johnny Carvajal, and trustees Miranda Benedict, Diana Buendia, Nicole Banda-Garza and Paul Luis Treviño.
