The Gresham-Barlow School District Board of Education voted unanimously at a special work session July 23 to approve the hire of Victoria Maehara as assistant principal at Gordon Russell Middle School for the 2025–26 school year. The motion to accept the recommendation for hire was made by Director Kris Howatt, seconded by Director Holly Riegelmann and recorded as carried with six ayes; Director David Ligatich was absent.
Executive Director of Human Resources Michael Sweeten reviewed the administrator new hire list and presented the recommendation to the board. The board recorded the motion on the official minutes: "Move to accept the recommendation for hire for the 2025-26 school year, Victoria Maehara, Assistant Principal at Gordon Russell Middle School." The board did not record additional discussion or public comment on the hire during the session. The hire is recorded for the 2025–26 school year per the agenda packet.
