Gambier schedules Aug. 3 public hearing on two area‑variance requests

The Gambier Village Council will hold a public hearing on Aug. 3, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. to consider two area‑variance applications affecting properties in the village. The agenda and notice say adjoining property owners were notified and that copies of applications are on file at the Village Offices, 115 Meadow Lane.

Village Administrator Courtney DeCosky reminded residents that a records request for the meeting audio and video may be completed before written minutes are approved and noted, “Please note video can only be viewed on site due to the size of the file(s).” The notice adds that written minutes will be posted online only after approval at the Aug. 31, 2026 Council meeting and that those wishing to speak at the hearing must attend in person; remote viewers may watch via Zoom using the meeting ID and password provided in the notice.

The hearing agenda lists two specific variance requests: one for a storage shed and greenhouse at 405 ½ Gaskin Avenue, and another for a privacy fence at 105 Allen Drive. The notice states that “At the end of the discussion, the Council may render a decision,” indicating the council could act on the applications during the meeting.
