The Village of Ridgefield Park Sustainable RP on April 23 reviewed results from its March 28 Health Fair and blood drive, reporting roughly 50 vendor tables and an estimated 200–250 visitors throughout the day.
Committee members recorded blood-drive results: goal 34 units, 31 presenting donors, five first-time donors, four Power Red donors (plus eight units), five deferrals and 30 units collected in total. Members also noted a medical vehicle was present to provide on-site testing during the event.
The committee discussed Health Survey Part 2 steps needed to pursue a Sustainable Jersey Gold designation. Two mandatory actions remain: completing “Best Practices for Local Boards of Health” and “Integrating Health in Municipal Decision Making.” SRP noted these items depend on direction from the Board of Commissioners and may affect whether SRP continues pursuing the Gold award.
The minutes show the Health Fair helped staff and volunteers make connections for the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign (MWC) and that organizers plan to hold next year’s event on April 3, 2027, with set-up the day before.
