At the Dec. 16 regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Sweetwater Independent School District, trustees outlined progress on bond-funded construction work and naming plans for the district’s new CTE building. Dr. Deidre Parish reported on a recent tour of the construction site and trustees discussed next steps for installation and recognition.
Dennis Cumbie, a trustee, said the Visioning Committee plans to place “bronze plaques…inside the CTE building honoring the individuals the building is being named after.” Trustees did not set a public schedule for plaque installation at the meeting; the update was presented as informational and no vote was taken.
