Sudan ISD approves budget amendments, grading policy and hears routine reports

At its July 14 meeting, the Sudan ISD Board approved amendments to the 2024–25 budget and adopted the district grading policy for the 2025–26 school year.
Superintendent Scott Harrell recommended amending Fund 181 Function 36 from $551,248 to $626,248 and Fund 199 Function 53 from $6,735 to $8,735; the board approved the amendments 5–0 (motion by Susan Baker; seconded by Joe Ky Shultz). Harrell also reviewed and recommended approval of the district grading policy for 2025–26; the board adopted the policy unanimously (motion by Susan Baker; seconded by Dustin Provence).
The meeting record shows Gordon Martin reported on class schedules (reporting for Mrs. Wilson), Coach John Cornelius presented the athletic director's report, and Harrell provided miscellaneous updates — including Maximum Compressed Rate (MCR)/2025 preliminary values, summer projects, new laws guidance, a federal hold on school title funding as of June 30, 2025, and board convention information.
