Joel Elkins raised multiple road concerns during the June 23 meeting, including efforts to cover drainage tubes and ongoing maintenance needs. He said he had received a phone call from Dwight Frost who told commissioners that 50 Road "is the smoothest it has been in years." Ed Duskie asked that the two blocks leading up to the railroad tracks in Montrose be graded or receive additional rock.
Elkins and Duskie also discussed equipment diagnostics: Duskie said he spoke with the John Deere operation center, which told him it can remotely check the new mowing tractor for error codes at no cost to the county. The commissioners flagged a water crossing east of Lane Underwoods as creating a very rough surface and directed staff attention to that spot.
