The Old Tappan Borough Council on June 3 approved personnel changes in the finance department that will add a part‑time file clerk to support tax collection during peak periods. Councilman Blonde introduced the change and said the move will create flexibility during heavy tax season.
"Her name, the new file clerk's name is Maria Tramarci, and she will be supporting, Joanne Forcellati," Councilman Blonde said during the meeting. The council adopted the staff appointments as part of a consent resolution after a motion and roll call.
The change follows an internal adjustment in which the full‑time assistant tax collector will become part‑time, prompting the need to hire additional part‑time coverage. Council members said the new arrangement will allow two staff members to work simultaneously during peak collection times. The ordinance to amend the salary schedule to reflect the new position was introduced on first reading at the same meeting and set for final consideration at a later date.
The council also confirmed other personnel items on the consent agenda, including new firefighting personnel and clerical confirmations. No dissent was recorded on the personnel approvals.
