Solid Waste Director David Walton updated the board that the county’s construction-and-demolition pit is “looking a lot better,” that he plans to burn the burn pit during the week and that the staging area work will allow some recycling to be moved out. Walton also said he has received his CLP and will begin driving classes Sept. 8 to obtain a commercial driver's license.
The operational improvements are intended to improve staging and recycling throughput; no budgetary figures were presented at the meeting. Commissioners were informed of Walton’s training plan and the planned burn, and no formal action was taken at the session.
