South River details multiple NJDOT grants and awards paving contract to Crossroads Paving

Cornell also reported a $582,753 FY2026 Local Aid grant for Mercer, Lyons and Mitchell streets.
Following the grant reports, the council authorized a professional-services contract to CME Associates for up to $138,700 to perform engineering services related to the 'Improvements to Various Roadways' project and accepted the apparent low bid from Crossroads Paving Company of Newark, NJ, for $678,726 to perform roadway work on Franklin Street, Olchaskey Avenue and Albourne Street, subject to NJDOT approval.
