Valley Mills Independent School District trustees heard a presentation July 22 on a proposed $18,920,000 package of facility upgrades that would be funded by a potential bond.
Cody Holt of Claycomb Associates, Architects, presented the scope: upgraded CTE space, improvements to the baseball and softball fields, a new concrete road and parking, corridor and playground improvements, and future cafeteria and classroom expansion for the elementary campus. Holt provided the $18,920,000 total and estimated roughly one year for completion. Dr. Judi Whitis outlined marketing strategies tied to a possible bond and noted Aug. 18 is the deadline to call a bond for the Nov. 4, 2025 election.
The presentation was delivered during the facilities update portion of the agenda; the board did not vote on the bond at the July 22 meeting but scheduled a budget workshop Aug. 11 that may include a bond discussion. The board will consider next steps, including information from the district's financial advisor, before any formal bond call.
