Shick also asked the board to convert four current part‑time child‑welfare positions into two full‑time permanency planning positions, citing recruitment and continuity problems with part‑time roles. Staff estimated the net additional county cost to make that conversion at approximately $42,008.67 after expected federal/state reimbursement. Commissioners agreed to place the interpreter proposal on the Aug. 10 consent agenda and welcomed a report back on staffing and financial details.
