Committee approves Alliance sign at 112 West Main with street‑name and landscaping condition
Summary
The applicant was allowed to replace two name panels on an existing V‑shaped tenant sign provided the artwork includes 'West Main Street' and landscaping beneath the sign; the committee voted to approve the amended design and asked for the final art to be emailed to staff.

Marie Garcia of Sun Reside presented on behalf of Alliance, requesting to replace two panels on an existing V‑shaped sign and to update the tenant panels to be changeable so future tenant names can be swapped without replacing the entire sign face. Garcia said the poles and sign structure remain unchanged and that panels will be cedar‑look bevels mounted flush.
Committee members asked about the panel attachment and suggested adding the street name under the address for wayfinding. The committee moved to approve the sign as amended—adding 'West Main Street' and landscaping under the sign—and the motion carried. The committee asked the applicant to email revised artwork and the spec sheet for lighting fixtures to staff for records.
Why it matters: The change is a tenant‑panel swap rather than a new freestanding sign, but the committee used the opportunity to insist on consistent downtown wayfinding and plantings under the sign to support the town’s design goals.
