Spearman ISD certifies May 3 election; three trustees sworn in and officers elected

A motion to accept the election return sheets as submitted by election judges Roger Morton and Dave Richmond passed, and the minutes record the result of the motion as "MOTION CARRIED 4-0."
Nora Saenz administered the oath of office to the three newly elected trustees following certification. The board then reorganized its officers for the coming year: Dustin Mackie was elected board president, Jay Tracy was elected vice president and Scott Sonnenberg was elected board secretary; each of those reorganization motions passed by a recorded vote of 7-0. The minutes show Karla Flowers and Abby Pipkin made and seconded the motion to appoint Mackie president, and subsequent motions to fill other offices were recorded with the same unanimous tally.
