Superintendent Shaw presented the Monroe Public Schools proposed 2025–26 general fund budget during a board budget hearing June 24, saying the general fund would begin the year with a $3.4 million balance and that "Revenues are expected to be right about $65,600,000" against projected expenditures of $67,500,000.
Shaw said the budget would leave an ending general fund balance of about $1,500,000, a reduction of roughly $1,900,000 from the beginning balance, and stated the district "is expecting that we will not have to, though, do any borrowing for this." The hearing record shows no board questions and no public comments. The budget hearing was concluded and the meeting adjourned; no formal budget approval or vote was recorded during the hearing.
