At a Nov. 19 special meeting, the Valley View ISD Board of Trustees reorganized its leadership, nominating and electing board officers. A motion by Trustee Jaime Gaona, seconded by Trustee Marisol Peña, put forward the slate of officers: Claudia Coronado for president, Efrain Perez for vice-president and Juan Viveros for secretary. All three accepted the nominations and the motion carried unanimously.
Judge Eric Olguin administered oaths of office earlier in the meeting to the newly elected trustees for Places 5, 6 and 7. The board then moved to reorganize its officers as recorded in the minutes. The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m. after a motion by Board President Claudia Coronado, seconded by Trustee Jaime Gaona; the motion carried unanimously.
Attendance for the meeting was recorded in the minutes: Board President Claudia Coronado (present), Board Vice-President Anthony Pinal (absent), Board Secretary Efrain Perez (present), Mario Degollado (absent), Jaime Gaona (present), Juan Viveros (present) and Marisol Peña (present). Interim Superintendent Dr. Monica Luna was present and the school attorney was absent.
