Council approves EDC's 2nd annual golf-cart scavenger hunt for Aug. 8

City Manager (S7) said the EDC (members Julena Varga, Tony Maniscalco and Dana McClain) had worked with the city planner to prepare the event. Councilmember S8 moved to approve the 2nd annual event for Aug. 8 from 3 to 8 PM at the North Forest parking lot and adjacent grass lot, including closure of the directly adjacent parking spaces for golf-cart parking; the motion was supported and passed.
Council praised the event as a community activity and discussed rain-date considerations; manager said severe weather would prompt cancellation and organizers would seek an autumn rain date. The council did not attach conditions beyond the standard event-approval provisions.
