Trustee Chris Earnest moved to approve the audit and Vice President Courtney Anderson seconded; the motion carried 7-0.
Lupe Garcia, CPA and engagement partner at Whitley Penn, presented the audit report to the board and answered questions about findings and financial controls. Board members then discussed the report briefly before the vote. The approval finalizes the audit for the fiscal year ending 2024 and allows district staff to proceed with any recommended follow-up steps identified in the audit report.
The board considered public comments submitted on the agenda item earlier in the meeting; two constituents (Michael Falick and Chris Gonzalez) had addressed the board on the audit. No additional action on the audit was recorded in the minutes.
