The Chair announced a ribbon-cutting Wednesday for the newly renovated OGS building and praised investor Mr. Luisi for transforming what the Chair called an "eyesore" into a revitalized property in Green Island.
The Chair described a recent incident during a tour in which a woman unleashed a dog, which the Chair said damaged landscaping and sprinklers. "So I'm gonna have the police to be doing an eye on it," the Chair said, urging residents to report anyone causing damage. The Chair said the town values the private investment and cautioned that failure to respect the property could discourage further improvements.
The Chair also reminded the public about a 2-mile breast-cancer-awareness walk scheduled Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. at Payne Street Park and asked participants to consider donating food for the town food pantry; the Chair said the walk is for awareness rather than fundraising.
