Officials cite bus-route safety as reason for parking restrictions at George and Market

"We were waiting to get the bus route schedule from the school," an agency official said, adding that the signs were installed that day "as an emergency" because children were congregating there. The official said the town will continue to monitor the bus route and congregation points and adjust as needed.
The board moved to set a public hearing on a local parking law (local law number 3) for the next meeting, Oct. 20, to consider formal restrictions at the intersection. Officials said painting curb curves yellow and installing signage are interim safety measures while the town evaluates the route.
