Valley View ISD honors trustees and student 'Tiger Star Readers' at special meeting

Valley View ISD trustees were honored Wednesday evening during a special meeting at the district’s central office, where Interim Superintendent Dr. Monica Luna and school administrators presented tokens of appreciation to the board. Students Renata Zamudio, Robert Segura and Eli Ramirez participated in the opening ceremony by leading the pledge and giving the invocation.
The board received recognitions for student reading achievements at VV South and WE Lucas elementary schools, presented by principals Marina Leal and Miguel Puente. Administrators also noted approval of a Q1 2025 Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant presented by Isaias Vidal, the district's At-Risk & Safety Administrator — a recognition item the board heard during the information portion of the agenda. The recognitions were listed in the meeting packet and discussed without formal vote.
