Council adopts SBDC subaward modification, Fire Programs grant appropriation and contract amendment
Summary
At its Aug. 3 meeting, the Roanoke City Council unanimously adopted a resolution modifying the Virginia Small Business Development Center subaward (no new local funds required), an ordinance accepting Virginia Department of Fire Programs grant funds, and a resolution increasing the Renovation Alliance contract by $703,000 to align with Healthy Homes grant reimbursements.
Council approved three formal actions during the meeting.
1) SBDC subaward modification: Council adopted a resolution authorizing the city manager to execute a modification to the Virginia Small Business Development Center subaward agreement (George Mason University as issuer) that increases available federal reimbursement for the Greater Roanoke and New River Valley SBDC. Staff said the change does not increase local spending or require additional local funds; the measure passed by roll call with all members voting Aye.
2) Virginia Department of Fire Programs grant: Council adopted an ordinance authorizing acceptance and appropriation of state Fire Programs grant funding. Staff said this annual pass-through funding supports equipment, protective clothing, training and fire prevention initiatives and requires no local match; the ordinance passed by roll call (all Aye).
3) Renovation Alliance amendment: Council adopted a resolution to execute Amendment No. 4 to contract C23-8192-106 with Renovation Alliance, increasing the contract by $703,000 to align with eligible work already performed and pending federal reimbursements under the Healthy Homes grant; the resolution passed by roll call (all Aye).
