Aquaneta Harris, interim director of finance, presented the monthly financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. Harris said overall revenue collections were at 97% of the annual budget and that several local tax categories — real estate, business license, public service tax and penalties/interest — performed particularly well. Prepared food-and-beverage base sales rose 1.9% while related tax revenue collections rose 20% following a rate increase from 5.5% to 6.5%.
Harris also reported that general fund expenditures were about 90% of the annual budget and that some departments had overtime and temporary-wage overages (staff cited snow removal and staffing limits as drivers). She noted year-end accruals were being completed and that expenditures were expected to remain within budget overall. Council members pressed about sales-tax trends and comparative performance in neighboring localities.
