Technology director: new servers, VLANs and cameras coming; staff must finish cybersecurity training

Technology Director Lahne Burns briefed trustees on planned and in-progress IT work. Burns said VLANs were created for wired access-control readers and that most issues have been corrected; two readers are being returned to the vendor under RMA. She said three new servers have had operating systems installed and that she plans a server swap this summer, adding that the new servers are "so MUCH faster" than the previous systems.
Burns also said she will add cameras this summer to address coverage "dead zones," create additional VLANs for phone and speaker systems, and urged all staff to complete mandatory cybersecurity training before the June meeting. She said she plans to submit the district's cybersecurity completion status in the first week of June.
