District staff detail LASSO and Strong Foundations grants to support curriculum, coaching and PLCs

Speaker 4 said the grants fund specialist teams who will visit bimonthly to guide PLCs, but that the district will retain instructional ownership rather than outsourcing PLC meetings.
The presentation noted current implementation for K–5 reading-as-language-arts (RLA) and a planning timeline for a math framework with a whole-team training scheduled for Oct. 1; if funding permits the district may pursue a Strong Foundations implementation grant for math in a subsequent year. Presenter (speaker 4) named existing coaches and said Region 7 and other partners will provide implementation advisors and on-site supports.
Trustees were given documents describing protocols, fidelity tools and sample schedules; the presentation emphasized internalization work for teachers and ongoing professional learning for leaders and coaches.
