Council President James told the Jan. 13 meeting that Pitman's recreation programs are active: travel basketball has 13 teams (6 girls, 7 boys), the K–2 Young Gunners program hosts 45 kids, and 2nd & 3rd grade in-house basketball has 35 participants. He reported field repairs (Alcyon Park backstops, boat ramp cleanup and repurposing of a donated batting cage net) and encouraged residents to sign up for the Pitman Day of Service on Jan. 20.
James provided a schedule for the Day of Service: 9:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m. — Angels of God Community Outreach; 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. — Lighthouse Community Center drive-through food drop (with Girl Scouts); 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. — playground cleanup across from the elementary school. He also shared contact information and office hours for resident outreach.
The report was informational and no council action was required at the meeting.
