District leadership reported a deep overhaul of the district-wide safety plan and said the draft has been posted online for a mandatory 30-day public comment period. The superintendent told the board the revision is designed to incorporate lessons from recent tabletop exercises and the upcoming superintendent conference day focused on safety.
"The draft is online. It needs to be online for 30 days to seek any kind of feedback internally or externally within the community," the superintendent said, and the board was told the plan would return for a public vote on Nov. 3. Administrators emphasized continual improvement and invited community review during the comment period.
Board members were advised the plan is being updated alongside ongoing safety training and tabletop exercises with the Geneseo Police Department and other local partners.
