Waco ISD approves construction change directive for Waco High tennis courts, caps cost at $936,278

The Waco ISD Board on Aug. 22 approved Construction Change Directive (CCD) #5 for the Waco High School tennis courts after contractors discovered the foundation for new courts had been omitted from structural bid documents. Rogers O'Brien and O'Connell Robertson worked with district staff and the Waco High tennis coach to find a less costly solution: reuse the foundations of four existing courts and add a foundation for four new courts. The not-to-exceed cost for CCD #5 is $936,278.36.
Jonathan Grant moved to approve CCD #5 and Angelo Ochoa seconded. The motion recorded a unanimous vote from trustees (7-0). The minutes note a CCD is being used because final cost and potential time impacts were still being determined; once final costs are established, CCD #5 will be replaced with an Allowance Expenditure Authorization or formal Change Order.
