The Waco ISD Board on Aug. 22 adopted a resolution setting the 2024 tax rate at $1.048940. Board discussion noted the proposed rate "does not exceed the no-new-revenue tax rate," which removes the requirement to include the "tax increase" language under Property Tax Code §26.05(b). Keith Guillory moved the resolution; Jeremy Davis seconded the motion and the board recorded the vote as unanimous (7-0).
Board materials and the required public hearing notice had been published in advance of the meeting. The board's action commits the local tax rate that will be used to generate the local portion of revenue for the adopted 2024–25 budget.
