Enoch retains designated area for July 24 fireworks; professional 15‑minute show planned

The Enoch City Council on July 15 confirmed it would keep personal fireworks restricted to the city hall parking area for the July 24 celebration and would not impose a citywide ban. City Manager Ryan Robinson told the council the governor had not issued a statewide fireworks ban as of the meeting and that the city's prior approach had been to designate an approved area rather than prohibit fireworks outright.

Robinson said the professional fireworks show will be produced by an outside company and accompanied by fire department personnel. Public Works Director Hayden White described staff precautions used for prior events — placing water barrels, mowing dry vegetation and keeping a water truck and hoses on site — and said those same steps would be taken leading up to the 24th. Police Chief Jackson Ames told the council the Fourth of July period had been unusually quiet this year, but regionwide reports indicate extremely dry conditions and elevated fire risk: "Reports from other law enforcement administrators across the region ... indicated extremely dry conditions and elevated fire risk," Ames said.

The council discussed the difficulty of a municipal ban under state law and confirmed that sparklers and other non‑aerial items would remain permitted. Council Member David Harris noted the city's preference was to "designate an approved area so that residents do not light fireworks covertly in less safe locations," emphasizing harm‑reduction through a contained site. Staff said they will hold a post‑event debrief after July 24 to review safety and logistics and identify improvements for future events.
