The Tulia Independent School District board voted unanimously March 24 to give Superintendent Dixie Johnson authority to hire, appoint, assign, promote and transfer professional staff, excluding administrator positions. The motion was made by Trustee Nicole Gore and seconded by Trustee William Fifer.
"[Authorize] Superintendent to hire, appoint, assign, promote, transfer school personnel, excluding hiring of administrator positions, on behalf of the school board trustees," the motion states and was adopted without opposition. Board members present included President Ashley Ramirez and trustees Clint Mahannah, Kacy Quinton, William Fifer, Nicole Gore, Jason Jack and Jenni McCaslin. The action delegates routine personnel hiring decisions to district leadership while reserving administrative hiring for the board.
