The Tuloso‑Midway ISD Board approved a public-purpose resolution at its Oct. 21 meeting authorizing continued wage payments to nonexempt employees who were or will be released early on specified early‑release days (Oct. 11 and Oct. 25, 2024; May 22, 2025).
The resolution, read by Board President Kim Boone, states that affected employees were instructed to work less than their typical 40‑hour week on those dates through circumstances beyond their control and that continued wage payments serve the public purpose of maintaining morale, reducing turnover and ensuring continuity of staffing. The board delegated to the superintendent the authority to update employee calendars and pay impacted employees without charging the hours against personal leave for the listed days.
Trustee Paul Mostella moved to approve the resolution; Trustee Ben Benavides seconded and the motion passed 6–0. The resolution is effective for the specific days listed for the 2024–25 school year only and does not create an ongoing policy for other dates.
