Troy ISD board honors Troy High baseball players, recognizes 29-4 Trojans season

The Troy ISD Board of Trustees on Sept. 15 unanimously approved resolutions recognizing individual Troy High School baseball players and the 2025 Troy Trojans baseball team.
President Gary McMurtry called the motion to approve the resolutions after Trustee Carrie Trees moved the item and Trustee Tommy Valle seconded. The board recorded all seven trustees—Amy McKissick, Kirk Bailey, Tommy Valle, Carrie Trees, Gary McMurtry, Bill Negron and Lindsey Strait—as voting in the affirmative. The resolutions named multiple honorees, including Kael Brentham, Andrew Cisneros, Colt Copeland, Tucker Creel, Diego Donoso, Hunter Fryman, Cohen Ketcham, Reed Ketcham, Cason Martinez, Joseph McMurtry and Ryder Sommer. The 2025 Troy Trojans baseball team was noted in the minutes as finishing the season with a record of 29-4 and earning the title of Area Finalists.
The board did not record any dissent on the honors, which were entered into the minutes by motion. The action recognizes both individual accomplishments (all-district, pitcher of the year, newcomer of the year and academic honors) and the team’s postseason placement.
