Randleman Board adopts FY2026–27 budget, ordinance and fee schedule

At the June 2 meeting, Alderwoman Melissa Allred Blalock made a motion to adopt the proposed budget and alderman Steve Grooms seconded the motion; the board approved the budget, the related budget ordinance (citing N.C.G.S. §159‑13) and the FY2026–27 fee schedule without opposition. The board opened the public hearing required by N.C.G.S. §159‑12(b) and no members of the public spoke for or against the proposal before the vote.
City Manager Henry “Hank” Raper had previously filed the proposed budget with the city clerk as required by statute. The board’s unanimous action clears the way for the budget and fee schedule to take effect for the coming fiscal year. The board recorded the adoption as a formal motion by Alderwoman Blalock and a second by Alderman Grooms; the meeting minutes note the vote was unanimous with one member absent.
