Board finds unauthorized tree removal at 228 Stanton Estates Cir; owner ordered to replace tree

Code Compliance Supervisor Chris Gonzalez told the board that Case E25-088 involves the unauthorized removal of a tree located in the city-owned easement area between the sidewalk and street at 228 Stanton Estates Circle.
"Case E25-088 for the address of 228 Stanton Estates Circle had cut down a tree in the easement area of the property without a tree removal permit," Gonzalez said, recommending the board find the property in violation under Sec. 50-151. Board members asked clarifying questions about whether the work was a cut versus a trim and what steps the property owner should take; staff said the owner must replace the tree on site at the city's direction. The board voted 7-0 to issue a Finding of Fact and Conclusion of Law, find the property in violation and require replacement of the tree before the next meeting on May 6, 2025.
The board's order directs the property owner to replace the removed tree per city instructions; staff will verify replacement and report back at the May 6 meeting.
