Tenafly Nature Center schedules educational sessions and spring events

Representatives of the Tenafly Nature Center told the Environmental Commission about their spring and summer calendar. Alex Brahstein (representing Deb Davidson) and trustee Andrew Mikesh listed the boundary walk on March 8, an informational session about beech-leaf disease on March 16, a mid-May gala, Nature Day on June 14, and Fireflies and Faeries on July 25. The Nature Center said it will host education on which native plants can replace invasives and will run related programs for the community.
As a token of appreciation, Andrew Mikesh presented Julie O'Connor with a plant for her prior service as the council liaison; commissioners welcomed the Nature Center's outreach and the commission noted the programs as opportunities to support local invasive-species control and native-planting education.
