West Rusk CCISD certifies $23.405 million bond election to build new elementary school

At its May 12 meeting the West Rusk County Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees formally canvassed the May 3, 2025 bond election and declared Proposition A carried.
The Order records the proposition as: "THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $23,405,000 FOR A NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, INCLUDING AN ELEMENTARY GYM AND MUSIC ROOM, AND THE LEVY OF TAXES SUFFICIENT TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEREST ON THE BONDS. THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE." The unofficial returns certified in the Order show 384 votes for and 205 votes against out of 589 total ballots cast; registered voters in the district number 3,752, for a turnout of 15.7%.
