Board accepts retirements and resignations, approves personnel slate and moves to executive session

The Oakwood City Board accepted personnel actions and moved into executive session at the end of its Aug. 3 meeting.
Under one motion the board accepted several items including supplemental resignations and the retirement of Teresa Coffey, custodian at Oakwood High School, effective Dec. 31; the superintendent said Coffey had been with Oakwood since June 2004. The board also approved the resignation of an intervention specialist at Smith Elementary and approved a slate of personnel recommendations that included job-share arrangements, supplemental contracts, a new band driver (Dan Edwards), substitute lists for the 2026–27 school year and extended days for staff members.
Finally, the board approved a motion to enter executive session "to confer with an attorney for the Board of Education concerning matters... the subject of pending or imminent action." The motion passed on a roll-call vote.
Next steps: personnel hires will be reflected in personnel paperwork and future board minutes; the board will handle legal consultation in executive session and may report any public actions afterward.
