CTE staff ask trustees to consider livestock wash building for ag program

CTE Director Leisha Smith told the West Rusk County Consolidated ISD board on June 16 that the district needs a livestock wash building to support its agricultural programs. Smith, joined by Ag teachers Willie Larrew and David Woods, presented preliminary bid proposals and drawings and described the need for site clearing before construction can proceed.
Superintendent Lawrence Coleman and the board reviewed the materials but did not act; Coleman said the item will return as a discussion-and-action item after plans are finalized. “We will bring finalized plans and cost estimates back to the board,” Leisha Smith stated as she presented the drawings. Trustees expressed general support for advancing design and budgeting before formal contracting.
