Mayor Mengoni told the trustees that through social media the village learned some North Riverside properties were incorrectly assessed Riverside’s 5% Amusement Tax on streaming services. He said he wrote a letter to Riverside’s Village President and board asking for immediate assistance to remedy the billing issue.
Mengoni asked residents to check their bills and, if their residence is being billed the 5% streaming tax, to "supply the address of their residence to the Village" so staff can follow up. The remark was presented as an administrative notification to residents; no formal action was recorded beyond the mayor’s outreach to Riverside officials.
