White Settlement ISD trustees meet Jan. 21; approve consent items, purchases and superintendent contract extension

The White Settlement Independent School District Board of Trustees convened on Jan. 21, 2025, at 5:34 p.m. and adjourned at 7:52 p.m. Board President Ben Davis noted that four members constituted a quorum; Trustee Raymond Patterson joined at 5:45 p.m., bringing attendance to five.
Trustees approved routine business and several separate motions during the meeting. A six-item consent agenda passed on a motion by Trustee Amanda Sanchez, seconded by Trustee Krystal Arnold, recording "Motion carried with 5 Ayes, 0 Nays." Separate motions approved a vendor for digital conversion of large-format permanent records and a vendor to purchase a boom lift, each carried 5–0. The board also voted to extend the superintendent's five-year contract by an additional year and to provide a 1% salary increase on a motion by Trustee John Bradley, seconded by Trustee Krystal Arnold; that motion likewise carried with 5 Ayes and 0 Nays.
The board met in closed session beginning at 5:50 p.m. and reconvened to open session at 7:13 p.m. After closed session the board approved personnel actions including two resignations, one retirement and three appointments. The minutes record the signatures at adjournment: "Ben Davis President amande Danchy Secretary."
