The council approved several hiring resolutions for the 2026 summer season. Resolution R-106-2026 authorized hiring part-time seasonal employees for the Summer Fun Camp season. Resolutions R-107-2026 and R-108-2026 authorized hiring a part-time seasonal swim team head coach and assistant coach, respectively.
Councilwoman Johanna Stroever proposed and the council approved amendments to the swim coach resolutions to require satisfactory background-check results prior to employment. The amendment to R-107 was moved by Council President Anthony Floria-Callori and seconded by Stroever; the amended motions passed with six affirmative votes. Councilwoman Stroever recused herself from one seasonal hiring vote as noted in the record.
The changes align the pool hires with standard employment screening practices and were included as amendments during the meeting's consent-agenda items.
