Nursing‑workforce group reports survey changes, adds clinical‑placement module

The Connecticut Center for Nursing Workforce updated the board on its annual nursing‑education survey and related initiatives. Executive Director Tina Loewarti Rodriguez said CCNW shifted data collection to the University of Connecticut, broadened the survey to capture graduate nursing and LPN programs in addition to RN programs, and changed enrollment reporting to academic‑year fall‑census counts while retaining calendar‑year reporting for graduates.
CCNW added a clinical‑placement capacity section to quantify available slots and unmet need, which the group described as the single most important addition for understanding constraints on enrollment and NCLEX outcomes. Rodriguez said the survey deadline was extended from July 6 to Aug. 6 and that roughly half of programs had submitted responses as of the meeting. She also announced leadership changes in the Deans & Directors Council and a student day scheduled for Nov. 4, 2026.
Board members thanked CCNW and asked for follow‑up on regulatory review timelines; attorney Bannon said she would seek an update for the board chair. CCNW will present analyzed results at a future meeting once data collection and cleaning are complete.
