Board approves Yale’s feasibility study for accelerated master of nursing program

Yale School of Nursing presented a 122‑page feasibility study for a proposed accelerated Master of Nursing program. Yale representatives described curriculum design (including two pharmacology courses and a pathophysiology course configuration), accreditation planning and a clinical placement strategy developed in partnership with Yale New Haven Health.
Board members asked detailed questions about pharmacology and pathophysiology content and clinical placements. Yale said it planned to enroll 30–40 students and had mapped clinical sites to avoid displacing other programs: "We plan to enroll 30 to 40 students, but we made sure that they can accommodate up to 55 students a year for this degree without bumping other students from the sites to whom they have commitments," a Yale representative said. Board members praised the report and voted unanimously to approve the feasibility study; the board noted a subsequent DPH site visit and a later vote will address the program director qualification.
