The Select Board on Aug. 5 appointed a police officer to the rank of sergeant after the department presented a completed promotional process. "We began this process in March. 4 qualified officers participated in the process," the chief said, outlining written and oral components and an administrative review. The board also approved a reclassification of the police department's administrative assistant from grade D to grade E to reflect increased responsibilities, with the chief noting the change can be absorbed within the FY27 budget.
