The Hobart Common Council met in executive session on July 15, 2026, beginning at 6:45 p.m. Mayor Huddlestun called the session to order to discuss strategy concerning initiation of litigation or litigation that is pending or has been threatened specifically in writing, as authorized by I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(2)(B). Present for the session were council members Mr. Kara, Mr. Rodriguez, Ms. Winstead, Mr. Brezik, Mr. Claussen and Mr. Waldrop; Mr. Kopil was recorded as absent. Also in attendance were City Attorney McCarthy, Chief of Staff Clemens and Clerk-Treasurer Longer.
The memorandum for the executive session states that no other topics were discussed. The session adjourned at 7:05 p.m. The memorandum was later adopted and certified on Aug. 5, 2026, with the presiding officer and Clerk-Treasurer attesting to the record.
