Chief Communications Officer Sarah Marcus presented three naming resolutions for Board approval. Marcus said Elementary #8 (off Field Store Road south of Schultz Junior High) will open in August 2025 as Mary Alice Cure Elementary; the district will name the Waller High School agricultural science complex (including a new Ag facility opening in January) the Smith Andrews Agriculture Science Complex; and High School #2 (south of Highway 290 in the Jubilee development) will be named Warren Ranch High School with construction to begin in Spring 2025. Secretary Jeff Flukinger moved to approve the three resolutions and Trustee Ronald Campbell seconded; the motion carried 7–0.
Board President William Warren recessed the meeting briefly to allow namesake families to be greeted and photographed before the meeting resumed. The resolutions, including naming justifications and namesake details, were filed with the meeting materials available online.
