Township authorizes Silver Road bridge replacement, accepts easements and prepares to advertise bid package

Township staff presented design and easement requirements for the Silver Road bridge replacement project and associated driveway and drainage easements.
Staff said the project will widen the existing bridge to the north, flatten the approach curve, add short sections of upgraded roadway with 10‑ft travel lanes and 5‑ft shoulders through the curve, and replace an adjacent culvert. Driveway adjustments and a mix of permanent drainage easements and temporary construction easements are required to complete the work. The board approved temporary and permanent easement agreements and the deed of dedication associated with the Stover Road right‑of‑way.
Funding for the Silver Road bridge replacement comes from the Municipal Bridge Retro Reimbursement Program (state/GVRPC). Staff said the township was awarded funds that will reimburse about 80% of the project cost upon completion; the township’s share is approximately 20%.
With final approvals and permits expected in the coming months, staff said the township intends to advertise the bid package this fall, award likely in winter and a notice to proceed in early spring; construction was estimated to take one season. The board authorized advertising the bid package and approved related easement agreements at the meeting.
